Shoes from wood-based cellulose materials (2017). An all-cellulose shoe made of novel wood-based materials, demonstrated in DWoC project, materials mainly developed by VTT. Designed by Saara Kinnunen.
Main materials: Upper material is thick cellulose-based non-woven textile, produced by foam forming and textured with 3D printed cellulose derivative (VTT), heel consists CatLignin (VTT) and veneer, outsole is cellulose palmitate (VTT), and insole raw material is wood-based viscose textile (Suominen Nonwovens Ltd.).
